GAF is the largest shingle manufacturer in the world. The company has history dating back to the late 19th century. GAF is a major innovator and manufacturer of residential and commercial products.
GAF Timberline HD is the best selling shingle in America. The "HD" references the High Definition patented way the granules are laid. This is the first shingle line in it's class to offer a limited lifetime warranty. There is a reason these are so popular with it's advanced protection shingle technology and beautiful appearance, these are the reigning king of the hill.
New to market this year is the GAF Timberline HDZ. GAF took their uber popular Timberline HD and made it better. The HDZ has a large nailing area that is mechanically fused in the common bond area. The HDZ has an industry first, wind warranty with no maximum wind speed limitation when installed with certain GAF accessories.
SBS Modified. Manufacturers have experimented for years to come up with shingles that can stand up to hail. Using scrim backed products, fiber blends and so on. The Armor Shield II uses an SBS Modified rubberized blend to achieve outstanding hail resistance. Topped with the same great look and colors of the Timberline HD but equipped with the hardware to achieve a UL Class 4 Impact Resistance.
GAF makes various synthetic underlayments and they are all really good in our book. Feltbuster is a spunbound polypropylene material. It lays flat and resists "telegraphing" of wrinkles. It is water resistant, has great traction is much stronger compared to typical felts.
There are very few options in the high end "Shake Look" asphalt market that can give you the look you desire and a UL Class 4 Impact Resistance. The Grand Sequoia Armor Shield is one of those few.
It is an honor that we were invited by GAF to be a Certified Weather Stopper Roofing Contractor. After GAF vetted our company, the title granted us the ability to offer even greater warranty coverage to our clients, extending the already comprehensive warranties provided on GAF products.
